The characteristic that is held in common by all technologies that survive the passage of time is that they have a lasting element that has not been completely supplanted by the new technologies. Apart from this, it should also be borne in mind that many companies re-invent the old technology, reduce their prices and correct their strategy so as to continue to benefit from technology that has already been invented.
